So leaving off from HERE, next up was a train ride from Princeton to NYC! We were so excited to explore the Big Apple, and it was going to be John's first time there! The train ride was so easy - fast, smooth, and only $16 a ticket - can't beat that :)
We arrived at Penn Station, and then took the metro to 66th and Broadway, to find the condo where we would be staying for the week -- John's previous boss SO graciously let us stay in his super nice (and spacious!) NYC place. Thank you Jay!
So much space! Especially for the city!
We headed out to explore the Upper West Side neighborhood, and made our way to Central Park :)
It was a BEAUTIFUL day, and there were people everywhere!
After spending the afternoon there, we wandered around some more and stumbled upon Crumbs Bakery!
We went with the Peanut Butter Cup cupcake - delish!
After a quick trip to Trader Joe's to stock up on snacks and wine, we went back to the condo, freshened up, and then went to Cafe Habana for dinner. I didn't take pictures but it was a really cool hole-in-the-wall restaurant with authentic Cuban-Mexican food..we loved it!
First stop: Time's Square...
....The Rockefeller Center
First celeb sighting - Elle Macpherson interviewing at the NBC Studios!
Then...Grand Central Station.
It was absolutely beautiful!
We could have spent the whole afternoon there staring at the architecture and the busy travelers :)
We had a late lunch at Cranberry Cafe (great deli/buffet style eatery)...
Then headed back to Time's Square to get in the TKTS line for a show!
We ended up getting great tickets for "How to Succeed in Business."
We explored more, shopped along 5th Ave and Madison Ave...
Macy's at Herald Square....
And then the Empire State Building!
For dinner before the show, we decided to check out Eataly.
It was soooo delicious and we had such a great time exploring all the little shops, restaurants, and counters.
After dinner, it was time for Broadway!
Oh yeah, Nick Jonas :)
He actually was really good! We enjoyed the show!
Whenever I would come with my family to NYC growing up, we would always go to Carnegie Deli after seeing a show, and order dessert....so John and I just HAD to follow that tradition!
The infamous "5th Avenue" Pie -- oh.my.
So that's part 1 of our Big Apple Adventure...stay tuned for part 2!
XOXO
