Ever since I got the "go ahead" to start working out post baby, I jumped right in. And I also tried to jump right into my pre-baby sports bras and gym shorts. That just wasn't happening. So I treated myself to a bit of an exercise clothing shopping spree. Not only could I now fit into my workout clothes, but I also was more motivated to actually do my workouts, now that I had some cute new gear :)
Am I the only one who gets motivated by a new pair of fun leggings?
Whatever works, right?

P.S. John and I are doing the new p90x-3 workout DVD's. They are only 30 minute exercises, and they are hard, but really fun! Highly recommend.

Way to get back on the right track. P90x3 is amazing. I only wish I had started doing it sooner after my son was born. I am doing T25 right now. And I totally am all about buying new workout clothes for motivation.

That's so awesome!! I'm curious to know when you find the best time of day to get your workout in. I have a 2 month old and find it hard to even get a shower in (and forget drying my hair.....never gonna happen). Do you do it at separate times from your husband so you take turns or after your cutie goes to sleep? My little one won't nap unless I'm standing and shushing her (ugh) so nap time workouts are out for me. I miss working out so just look for advice from people who manage to get back into it.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about timing too! My daughter will be eight weeks on Friday and we do a 30-60 minute walk with the stroller most days but I haven't been able to manage anything more than that. Most of her naps during the day are quick catnaps. Would love some tips for squeezing a workout in!

ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley! The best time for me is in afternoon when I put him down for his longer nap. I can usually get about 1 to 2 hour nap out of him at that point. So I typically am already in my workout gear and quickly work out, it's a 30 minute one, and then shower. When that doesn't work I do it late at night when my husbands home, and he can take care of him. It took a while for him to nap on his own, but thankfully it's just started working, knock on wood. I started using the happiest baby on the block method, and that work like a charm. Good luck to you and congrats on your sweet little one.

ReplyDeleteget it hot mama!!!! proud of you for making time to workout. I found that the only "free" time I had to workout was before my kids woke up so I have to set an alarm to wake up before they do to squeeze in a little "me time" :)
