Last week, John and I took off for a mini vacation during his first week of spring break! We drove to Charleston and spend 4 days exploring and falling in love with the city. This post is part 1, there will be one more post to come!
We got in Monday evening, and met our dear friend Leah for a delicious dinner at The Mustard Seed in
Mt. Pleasant. It was so great to see her, catch up, and enjoy a yummy meal.
Leah showed us all around Mt. Pleasant, Sullivan's Island, and Charleston, and we were so thankful for such a wonderful tour guide!
The next morning, John and I went back to Sullivan's Island for a beautiful stroll on the beach, and then lunch at the delicious Poe's Tavern. We loved their burgers and fish tacos!
Then, we went and checked into our hotel for the week (we stayed at Leah's the 1st night). It was the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, and I would definitely recommend it! We had a great view of the bay and marina, and it was in a great location (right across the bridge from downtown.
Next up, we headed into Charleston and signed up for a Carriage ride through downtown.
We had great weather, and we really enjoyed sight-seeing this way.
Me and our sweet horse, Dynamite! I love that she is sticking her tongue out...probably at John, taking the photo :)
I seriously took a picture of every single house...these were some of my favorites.
Downtown Market Area.
King Street -- amazing shopping!!
Arriving back to the stables....we loved our Carriage Ride!
Coming soon...Part 2! We did a spooky ghost tour, lots more delicious dining, a stroll through Battery Park, and a tour of the USS Yorktown, which is docked in Charleston.
Today, we leave for a week in Asheville for John's second week of Spring Break!

Happy Monday, lovelies!!
