Friday Five - In Florida!

Happy Friday!!

I'm blogging from Florida today - so pardon all the iPhone pics - I can't get my big girl camera to upload :(  

Here's what we've been up to the past week!

1. Family Picnic!

Before we left for our big trip, John had a work picnic in Princeton out at a gorgeous lake!  It was so much fun, and we were able to snap a cute family pic :)

I wore my new favorite lip color - Rimmel Show Off Liquid Lipstick in "Apocalyptic"!

2. Jet-setting

We left Tuesday for Pensacola, Florida!  It's my hometown - and it's always so much fun to travel back home, especially when home is at the beach!

It's just me and Andrew for this trip - so needless to say, this Mama was so happy for the plane to touch down after a long and stressful travel day!!  We made it though - and Andrew did great! 

3. Blogger play date!

Our first morning in Florida was spent meeting up with one of my favorite blogger ladies!  Annie and her precious son, Brody, from Home of Malones!  We met up for a music class, and the babies had so much fun!!  Yay for this blogging world, bringing new friends together!

4. Birthdays and Pool Fun

Back home, we celebrated my sweet Mom's birthday!  We had delicious shrimp pasta, grilled veggies, and I made a Chocolate Cake :)

I'm trying to get all the fresh seafood in that I can get while I'm home - there's just nothing like shrimp, crabs, and lobster fresh from the Gulf!

We've already had lots of beautiful weather - perfect for pool time!

5. Beach Day!

Yesterday was the most PERFECT beach day!

It was so gorgeous - 

we played in the sand, swam in the ocean, had a picnic lunch

...and even took a nap!

Dinner was at the Oar House - one of my faves!

I had a fried fish basket - shrimp, hushpuppies, fries....go big or go home, right!!??

It's been such a fun week so far!!

We've got a few more days, so hopefully I'll post again while we are still here!

Saturday Six

Yup - I had all intentions to put this post up yesterday, for my "Friday Five", but I'm a day late :)
It's been a better week, I'm slowly but surely getting back to normal.  I still have stents in my nose from surgery, that I will have removed on Monday.  So ready for that to happen.
Another big thanks to y'all for your precious words of encouragement, thoughts, and prayers!

Now, on to my Saturday Six!  ;)

1. Happy Birthday Mimi!

It's my beautiful Mama's birthday!  She is the epitome of unconditional love, and serves others like no one I've ever met.  Seeing her becoming Andrew's "Mimi" has been the greatest joy!  Can't wait to celebrate in Florida next week!

2.  Alex and Ani Bracelets

I never thought I was a huge "charm" bracelet fan, but I was recently given an Alex and Ani Initial Bracelet, that I've been wearing with everything!  I noticed that Princeton just opened an Alex and Ani store, so I popped in this week, and they have some cuuuuuuuuute stuff!!  I just love stacks of bracelets, and these are the ultimate stacking bracelet!

3. Tate's Chocolate Chip Cookies

A sweet friend brought over these delicious cookies while I was recovering from surgery, and oh.my.goodness.  Have y'all had these?  I don't think I've seen them in the south...but they are similar to Nam's Bits!
Big, crispy (yet chewy), chocolatey, buttery, and just so darn good!  

I found this recipe - and I think I may give them a try!

4. Gigi's in Town

After my parents left last week, we got a new visitor!  John's sweet mother came for the week, and we had such a great time!  She took care of Andrew so much, and helped me out a ton!


They went swimming, took walks, and bonded so much!

She wore him out!  ;)

5.  Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

You have most likely noticed the Nordstrom sale currently going on - and I've put just a few things in my shopping bag....these are some of my picks!

6. Pizza

I mean - what's a blog post from me without a picture of a pizza.

We are off for a summer picnic today at the lake with John's office!  And then I'm packing for our trip to Florida - we leave on Tuesday!

Happy 6 Months!

We officially celebrated Andrew's 1/2 birthday a couple of weeks ago...(see here)

...but I of course had to do my monthly photo shoot of the little man!  

Dear darling boy, 

You are just melting our hearts over and over, each and every day.  You personality is soaring and you LOVE to snuggle and reach up for Mommy and Daddy.  And with these eyes and eyelashes, you pretty much have us completely wrapped around your tiny fingers.  

You are giggling more and more, and you are finally eating solids!  You even have your own high chair!  How did you get so big? We've started with oatmeal cereal, squash, peas, and pears.....

You're favorite is definitely the pears!  

You are curious, inquisitive, patient, alert, and very active!  You enjoy playing in your exersaucer, kicking and splashing during bath time, going on long walks in your stroller, and spending time with your grandparents (who all came to visit this month!)

You're a tiny 6 month old, weighing just 14.5 lbs!  You are 26 inches long.  We started a modified version of "Crying it Out" this month (after 6 weeks of sleep regression), and you have handled it like a champ!  Much better than Mommy handled it!  ;)  

You now sleep a full 11 hours straight at night, and take 3 naps a day.  All while still being swaddled!  

Mommy and Daddy love you so much sweet boy.  We thank God every day for blessing us so greatly by being your parents.  We can't wait for next month, as we head back to Florida, spend time with family, take a trip into NYC with friends, and just gobble you up every second we can.  You're simply the greatest joy we could ever imagine.   Happy 6 months!
