European Adventure - Bavaria

While in Munich, John and I planned to take another day trip into the beautiful and picturesque area of Bavaria, Germany.  Bavaria is home to two of the most beautiful castles I have EVER seen.
First up was the Hohenschwangau Castle - which was the childhood home of King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

The view from inside the castle - not too shabby!

We wandered around the gorgeous castle and down to the this lake -- it was the most beautiful blue I've ever seen.  I would have just stared at it forever if we had all day.

Next up was the main feature - the Neuschwanstein Castle - which King Ludwig II had built as a "retreat" home just a stone's throw away from the Hohenschwangau Castle.  It was also the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle -- and I can see why.  It was truly the most magical and breath-taking place I've ever seen.  The scenery, the castle, the architecture, and the perfect blue skies made for an unforgettable picture.

The most amazing views came from Mary's Bridge -- a tiny wooden bridge that was a tad terrifying, but well worth it.

We had the BEST day exploring Bavaria -- it was like living in a fairy tale :)

Next up - Prague!!
