A Day in the Life

For some reason, I really love taking a peek into the daily lives of friends and fellow bloggers.  When I stumbled across April's "Day in the Life" post, I found myself relating on so many levels!  And I thought I'd give it a try :)
It's probably extremely boring and mundane - but this is a good representative of a typical day around our neck of the woods.  This was Friday!  (oh, and forgive the lack of professionalism and glamour with my fancy iPhone pictures!)

7AM
Ellie is awake, and ready to eat!  She slept 8 hours straight- so we're both refreshed and ready to start our day!

8:15AM
After I nurse Ellie, Andrew wakes up and John brings him in to snuggle and cuddle in bed with us.  I love this part of the day :)  Andrew holds Ellie and sings her a song about Jesus, fire trucks, and peanut butter...it's kind of amazing.

9AM
Ellie goes down for her morning nap, while John fixes Andrew breakfast.  Today it's cereal and a green smoothie for him.  I make my way over to the coffee pot.  Time to really get this day started.

930AM
Breakfast for me: I have been loving scrambled eggs lately.  Today I add spinach, shredded cheese, ham, salt & pepper, and a dash of almond milk.

(my standard morning ensemble: sweat pants, sweat shirt, and slippers)

Breakfast is served!

10AM - 11AM
Andrew does some art projects - coloring today.  This is the time where we usually do some quiet activity like this.  (Painting, stickers, reading, etc.)

I usually either sit with him, do dishes, or clean up a little bit.  Today, I take a few minutes to reorganize a kitchen drawer.  Are you enthralled yet?  ;)
I really should have taken a "before" picture - that would have been much more entertaining.

11:30AM
Ellie is awake and ready to party!  AKA - eat.

I feed her, while Andrew gets to watch a show - "Thomas" and eat a snack (a peach and a cheese stick).

12:30PM
Andrew goes down for his nap.  I play with Ellie, and fix a quick lunch for myself.
Chicken salad and blue chips.

1:00PM
I take Ellie into the bathroom with me (she plays on her mat), and I get started on my "5-minute face".  This is my typical makeup routine, quick and easy!

And I can't forget my hair routine - dry shampoo for the win!

1:30PM
Ellie is down for her afternoon nap, and it's "me" time!
I catch up on this week's "Bachelor", and house hunt on Zillow!

2:30PM
Andrew is up!  He makes me lay down with him for a bit, and I don't complain!

2:45PM
Ellie is up.  I nurse her, and fix a late lunch for Andrew.  Today it's greek yogurt, a granola bar, pretzels, and an orange.

3:45PM
We pack up the car, and head out to meet John at the mall to look for new glasses for him.  We shop around a little bit, and hit up a couple stores.

I find these on sale at Gap, and scoop them up!

5:45PM
Back home.  I feed Ellie while John and Andrew play.
I grab a quick snack, and start dinner for Andrew (quesadilla, pretzels, and hummus).

6:30PM
I freshen up, because I've got plans!  Drinks and appetizers with a girlfriend!

7:00PM
Bedtime feed for Ellie, read books with Andrew, and say goodbye!
John puts him to bed around 7:30PM, right as I head out the door!

(new top from Free People - love it!)

8:00PM
Well the drinks with my girlfriend actually turned into a SURPRISE going-away party thrown by 12 of my sweet friends!  (Have I blogged about our move?!)
It was the best night, and I was an emotional mess!  Love you girls!

(handmade gift from my friend, Margaret!)

11:00PM
Home, and BED!

Whew!  Is anyone still with me??
Thanks for coming along with me as I recapped "A Day in the Life"!

Happy Hump Day!

Friday Five

1. Stationery Love

I'm a sucker for pretty paper, and these are two of my new favorite goodies.  The 2016 planner is from May Designs, and it is just a beauty. It's simple, compact, precise, and I love the personalized touch. The adorable note cards are from the fabulous "dollar spot" at Target.  If you're ever looking for me, you can find me there just about every other day :)

2. Toddler Favorites
The month of December is a very exciting one around this house.  Not only is it Christmas (our favorite holiday!), but we also celebrate Andrew's birthday just two days before!
Here are some gifts Andrew has been loving ever since that magical week.
Thanks to Amanda, Mom & Dad, and Anne for these goodies!

Personalized Melamine Plate

3.  Sadlow Siblings
Just because I love seeing these two together...I had to share my two favorite pics of the week.  Yes, we are still in Christmas jammies :)

Would you just look at her hand on his leg....heart melted.

4. Hair Accessories
I need to know where you mamas of girls get your headbands/hairbands/bows/clips?  I am obsessed!
Love having a baby doll  I get to dress up!

5. Home Decor Instiration
So I think I just came up with a word.  Inspiration + Instagram = Instiration.
I don't know about you, but I love scouring Instagram accounts for inspiring photos of food, fashion, baby gear, and home decor.  Lately I've been hooked on these amazing home decor accounts.  Totally day-dreaming of these rooms!  If I just had the time/money/energy to give my house a total makeover!  Joanna and Chip Gaines - are y'all available? ;)

Hope y'all have had a great week!
Happy Friday!

{Linking up with Liz!}

Ellie - Two Months

Dear Baby Girl,

This month has been so much fun!  You have "woken up" from that newborn sleepy stage, and your eyes could not be brighter!  You are wide-eyed and curious, and you love hearing new sounds.  Especially your own voice!

The best part of this month was seeing your smile :)
It's just the sweetest thing in the world.  You are a very happy and content baby.  You hardly ever cry, but when you do, all it takes is Mama's cuddles to fix that little problem right up.
You are a shining light - just like what your name means.  Our days are brighter and happier because of you.  It has also been such a joy to see Andrew become more interested in you these last few weeks!  He loves to "hold baby sister", and kiss your toes.
This month you also got to spend time with Mimi, Papa D, and Gigi - they loved cuddling you and making you smile!

Things you love:
Smiling
Cooing and hearing your own voice
Your swing
Sleeping at night!  We have gotten several nights of 8 hour stretches!
Being swaddled
Watching Andrew play

Things you don't love:
Riding in the car
Getting buckled into your car seat
Getting dressed/undressed

Stats:
10 lbs 5oz
23 inches long

We love you, sweet girl!
Happy 2 months!
