A Tennessee Wedding

We just got back from our wonderful weekend in Knoxville, celebrating the wedding of John's good friend, Jay, and his lovely bride, Rebecca!  It was a beautiful weekend and we were so thankful to be able to be a part of their big day!

Friday night we drove in, and got ready for the rehearsal dinner, which was at The Square Room, in downtown Knoxville.  The food was amazing, especially the dessert!  And we had so much fun meeting other friends and family of the happy couple.

Me and hubs, and our amazing dessert :)

Patrick, John, and the groom!
Saturday was a gorgeous day, and we explored the downtown area a bit, and then were able to meet John's brother and his family in the Market Square area for lunch!  They were in town for the day, passing through on the way to Gatlinburg for the weekend --- it worked out so well, and it was soooo good to see them!

With our adorable nieces!

After spending the afternoon lunching and shopping, it was time for the wedding.  The ceremony was wonderful and so very sweet.  And John was the most handsome groomsman I've ever seen!  ;)
The reception was at the Emporium, which is a really nice art gallery downtown.
Everything was amazing, and we loved seeing and catching up with so many of our Memphis friends!

Happy Weekend lovelies!!  John and I are headed off to Knoxville, TN for the wonderful wedding weekend of our great friends Jay and Rebecca!

We are so excited for this mini getaway (I usually am working every single weekend), and we will be reuniting with lots of friends from college and Memphis.  John is in the wedding, so I plan on exploring the streets of downtown Knoxville, checking out the local Farmer's Market, doing a little shopping, and trying out a famous Burger joint. Then of course, all of the wedding festivities!!

Weekend Update

pensacola beach cross via
Happy Sunday lovely readers!  I've been lacking in the blogging department as of lately, due to my work schedule, and my desire for sleep and snuggling.....BUT, I hope all of you are having a fabulous weekend!
Thus far, my weekend has consisted of = work. eat. sleep. work. eat. sleep. work.
Along with a couple movies and lots of iced coffees in between.

John started back with classes in full swing last week, and we found out that he will have 2 days of no classes during the week -- which means we will have SO much more free time together than last semester.
Can't wait for sleeping in, snuggle time, breakfast in bed, pajamas all day, and lunch dates :)

Hope everyone has a very happy Sunday!
XOXO

(I'm leaving you with a wonderful passage from my bible study this week -- It might be a familiar one to you, but it is one of my favorites, such a sweet reminder of God's love and provision for us.)

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? .... But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well."

Making Plans

I LOVE planning ahead. Whether it's knowing the weather for the next 10 days, scheduling an entire trip 6 months before it (including the restaurants and shops to visit), or coming up with outfits weeks in advance for an event that may or may not even happen.  So, with that comes my love for planners/day agendas.  I buy a new one every six months at least.  I love filling out and planning daily activities, decorating pages for birthdays, and I'll even back-track to dates that have already past to write in what I did.
Is that totally lame?

Anyway, I am in the market for a new one, and I think I've found it....

How adorable is this fun and colorful day agenda by Jonathan Adler??

Fashion Friday - Citrus Love

Who's ready for spring??  Oooooh, me, me!!  Honestly, I really do love fall, the layering of clothes, scarves, boots, bonfires, anything pumpkin flavored, soups, etc....but as soon as winter hits (i.e. snow and ice for days and days), and my toes remain frozen for weeks, I start dreaming of sunshine, pina coladas, strappy wedges, and sunglasses 24/7.  Most of all, I love the colors of spring and summer --- turquoise, coral, bright yellow, tangerine, and melon.  LOVE.  They make me so happy :)

So imagine my delight when I start to see the Spring 2011 trends and runways that are absolutely FILLED w/ the colors of my favorite fruits -- citrus everywhere!!

Can't wait.  :)
Check out these beauties on the Spring 2011 runways, and celebs that are loving the trend.

Holidays Part Dos

After an amazing time in Tennessee for the holidays, we finally made it back to NC, and got ready for the arrival of my parents!  They moved us into our apartment back in July, but hadn't been back since, so we were thrilled to show them our abode and our favorite new spots in Durham.

We were able to do a big lunch w/ my cousins and their beautiful kids, while my parents were here.  It had snowed the day before and it was so much fun. I have lots of family in NC, who we have loved seeing since  we moved here!

Next, it was Christmas w/ my fam, stockings and all!  My mom and I prepared a yummy meal of ham, mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, spinach casserole, and chocolate cake.  It was amazing!

John and me w/ our stockings :)
My sweet mom and dad
Dad loved his new Duke hat
I loved my new rainbows - best flip flops EVER
My mom was so proud of the apron I made for her!
Flowerbomb - obsessed.
For New Years, we drove to Emerald Isle Beach to visit my aunt and uncle and had a wonderful time.  My aunt cooked an amazing meal, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and walk on the beach, and a bonfire w/ champagne and s'mores. It was definitely a fun and relaxing New Year's Eve.

For my parents last day, we enjoyed the deliciousness of two of our new favorite Durham eateries...
Guglhupf's Bakery and Pop's.  Thanks so much Mom and Dad for coming to celebrate a belated Christmas and New Year's w/ us!  We love you!

Pop's :)

Name Change

via
So, I decided to change the title of my blog.  I love our last name (The Sadlows), which was the previous title, but I was bored with it as the main feature....couldn't I have been a teensy more creative with that?!  I've always had "All you Need is Love" underneath the title...but it was so small and lonely down there! Plus, the blog really isn't ONLY about me and my dear husband, it's got WAY more to it than that :)

New year, new blog title.  Yay for change!

Fashion Friday - Look of the Week

In LOVE with the beauty of Lauren Conrad's latest look that she donned to the Cover Girl 50th anniversary party this week.  It is perfection to me.  From her head to her toes.

I love the soft waves of her hair - and the color is perfect for winter.
Her makeup is soft and sweet, with just enough color, but not the fake-tan look.
The dress is divine -- creams and beiges are very hard to pull off in the winter, they often drown you out completely, but she pulls it off.
I love the of the flounciness of this dress, the tie around the waist, and the 3/4 sleeves, it just works.  I have really been loving the long sleeved, short dresses lately.
And last but not least, her shoes -- really glad that she chose nude shoes w/ this dress.  The straps make them fun and youthful.  And I'm always a fan of dark toe-nail polish.
All in all, I give this a 5 out of 5 stars.
Way to go LC!!!  :)
