A Challenge and a Party

When we moved from NC to NJ this summer, I made a promise to myself.  I would host an all-girls Christmas party in 5 months, and I couldn't back out.  It didn't matter if I only invited 2 people, or if I had to invite strangers - but I would have people over, and host a party!

It definitely made me meet new people and reach out to girls, even if it felt awkward or out of my comfort zone at the time.  But guess what?
I did it.

My new friends!

So thankful they actually showed up!! I was a little nervous there for a minute :)

Lesson learned - challenging yourself, and pushing yourself out of comfort zone may be hard at the time, but it is almost ALWAYS worth it!!  A big thanks to my friend, Lydia who helped me pull this off!
XOXO

Good for you!! What a way to challenge and push yourself-it's so much harder to make friends as an adult. Looks like it was a success

That's fantastic! I really need to do more of that this year (I get nervous too!) and you're inspiring me to stop worrying and just be myself!

The sangria looks amazing--you may need to post the recipe for that! So proud of you for going out of your comfort zone, challenging yourself, and all that jazz. happy new year. oxo

LOVE this :) Obviously I've just moved across the big blue ocean and that's a challenge for me this year! So...how did you go about it? Was it through work? Neighbors? Do spill the beans as this is so not an easy task :) ha
