Ellie - One Month

Dear Baby Girl,

Just writing those three words is so surreal to me. Are you really a-month-old? How can it be? It seems like just yesterday I was staring in disbelief and wonderment at the positive pregnancy test in our bathroom. The next nine months were a roller coaster of emotions, sickness, anticipation, excitement, and anxiety. What would life look like with two kids? How would labor go the second time around? How will Andrew react with a new baby? How will I react with a new baby??

I prayed for you. I prayed for our family and the relationship you would have with your brother. I prayed and I still pray that you would be healthy.

God is so faithful and has answered those prayers and has blessed our family so much since the day we brought you home.

And now you have been here a month! It's been a whirlwind! We have spent a lot of time together, you and I, and I wouldn't change that for the world. You need me and I am here. You are the perfect addition to our family and it's almost like we have known you forever- like you've always had a place here. Every day you change and grow- we love watching you explore the world around you.  You are already so alert!

Ellie- we love you and are so thankful for you. What a joy you have been already. What a treasure you are to our family. We are so grateful- just filled to the brim with love for you.

Things you love:
Snuggling
Your play mat
Sucking your hand
Riding in the car
Your Mamaroo
Sitting on Andrews lap
Watching Daddy's facial expressions
Listening to Mommy sing to you
"This little light of mine"
Cuddling with friends and family

Things you don't love:
Diaper changes
Bath time (but it's getting better!)
When the car comes to a stop

Stats:
9lbs 7oz
22 inches long

Happy 1 month, darling girl.
I'll love you always,
Mama

I can't believe she's a month old already!! It sounds like things are going well and I'm so happy for you. It's amazing how you quickly a second baby can just fit right into the family :)
